Hi, my name is Ed ter Haar Ahlström, and I live with my wife Nina in Åkersberga, a small town about 30 kilometers north of Stockholm, Sweden. I was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 1964 and grew up in Amstelveen, a few kilometers south of Amsterdam.
We have two grown-up children, Jamie and Jeffrey, aged 31 and 35. I work for a construction company, and Nina is retired. My main interests are my grandchildren (Lukas, Isabelle, and Jakob), computers, and ham radio.
In 1994, we decided to move to Sweden. We sold our house in Amstelveen and relocated to Åkersberga, also known as Roslagen. Åkersberga is a wonderful place surrounded by nature, forests, and even a real Viking graveyard (dating from 800–1000 AD) near our home! Much of the area around the village is used for golf, which is a very popular sport here. During the summer, we enjoy swimming and relaxing in the nearby ponds and sea. Winters can be long, but my radio hobby and computers help me get through the quieter months.
